So today is day 3 since I actively started turning my dream into reality (Please see my “Starting Out” post if you are interested in what it is I am blabbing about). With the support and inspiration from my children and my husband, I pent the Saturday thinking about my plan, researching the market and more ways to get my name out there.

With the support and inspiration from my children and my husband, I pent the Saturday thinking about my plan, researching the market and more ways to get my name out there.
I have decided to stick with “Thousand Words Photography”, I’d like to think it is a creative name for photography business while I am probably hardly the first one t use it. So day 2 was thinking things through researching and also turned out to be fun, relaxing one as well, I made sure to spend some quality time with my husband and our baby, while our older kids were spending quality time with grandparents. Having ran a business in the past (different kind of business, thousands of miles away and what seems like thousands of years ago), I have learned the hard way, that while one must completely dedicate oneself to the business they run, one has to make they are not forgetting to live, to spend quality time with their family/loved ones and putting that first. Not only it is beneficial for your sanity and quality of life, but in the long run, your family will end up being supportive of you in return, when you need to focus.
In this situation, I am exceptionally thankful for my husband, who took time to help me research all the best web-hosting sites, affordable plans and available domains. Ultimately he laid out all the best options for what, I informed him, I was looking for and let me chose the one, I thought would work best for my start up.
So today we combined pleasure and business proactivity and decided to have our lunch date at one of the local art galleries, that also happens to be a cafe/”creperie”.
I learned about this, well hidden gem, a few months ago and was dying to check it out. This place is the artist’s dream breakfast place. Full of all sorts of delicious breakfast and lunch choices to one’s liking, they also served excellent peach cream crepes, this place lets you enjoy your food and coffee, surrounded by all sorts of art, from paintings and photography to local craft art! There, I had a chance to meet the owner and talked to him about wonderful art gallery/cafe and possibility of displaying my photography work there as well. To my surprise and excitement, he was very welcoming and explained to me how I could do so and offered me forms, explained the pricing, as the art was not just for display but also for sale!! So I feel like things are starting to happen for me. He told me he started this as an idea out of desire and need to revive the Main street in his town and help out local artists.
Above is the view of the inside atmosphere and our table with a lot of light.. oh… and that container of amber stuff, is warm maple syrup made locally from local sugar-shacks .
So, while I just started on the layout of my new website, so carefully and with love researched by my husband and it still being, so to say, work in progress, I am too excited not to share, so I present you with my personal website www.thousandwordz.com

Ascending to the top of the White Face Mountain, in the Adirondack Mountain Range, near Lake Placid NY. For me, this place always has exceptional ambience, always different, always unique, no matter how many times I photograph it. It is about the light, the colors, the wind and the feeling the ambience of this place wraps you in. Different seasons and different times of the day will give you different feels. I love going there quite often. The sun and the fog give it very peaceful, almost tranquil feel.
